Fat Bastard Operating Instructions

Congratulations on the purchase of your Boise Black Rifle “Fat Bastard.”  Your new “Fat Bastard” has been test fired to ensure it functions.

As with any firearm, please be sure to follow Jeff Cooper's four cardinal rules of firearm safety:

  1. Treat all guns as if they are always loaded.
  2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
  4. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

If you are new to AR-15 based firearms, we recommend familiarizing yourself with them and their operation by reading an operator’s manual. A good manual that can be found online is provided by Palmetto State Armory and can be found here.

Your "Fat Bastard" pistol has a non-transferable lifetime warranty.  If you are the original purchaser of a Boise Black Rifle "Fat Bastard" and you encounter any problems with your firearm, please contact us by calling the store at 208-450-3044 or emailing us at sales@boiseblackrifle.com

Gas Adjustment

The Fat Bastard is equipped with an adjustable gas block. The extended hex wrench to adjust it is in the rifle bag. The gas block is left fully open from the factory and it should be adjusted to run properly with the ammunition you select.

Adjustment instructions:

  1. Make sure the gun is unloaded and the chamber is empty.
  2. Turn the adjustment screw in (clockwise) several clicks and then fire the gun.  If it cycles and loads the next round, repeat step 1. Do that until the gun ejects the spent round but fails to load the next round.
  3. Open the gas block up (counterclockwise) two (2) clicks. This is the recommended setting for your ammo.
