Congratulations on the purchase of your Boise Black Rifle “Cheap Bastard.” Your new Cheap Bastard AR has been test fired to ensure it functions. However, until the gun’s gas system has been fully sealed, it is possible that lower pressure .223 rounds may not fully cycle the gun. We recommend using 5.56 rounds for the first several hundred rounds.
As with any firearm, please be sure to follow Jeff Cooper's four cardinal rules of firearm safety.
- Treat all guns as if they are always loaded.
- Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
- Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
If you are new to AR-15 based firearms, we recommend familiarizing yourself with them and their operation by reading an operator’s manual.
